is the spiritual practice of hospitality lost? myself the words from st. benedict in the rule is something i ponder in, seeing the other as possessing Christ and welcoming them as you would Christ. i think the table is an easy way to see a mondern hospitality, in literal fellowship at the dining room table, but also the Eucharist. however, how do we break our hearts where we are able to be open to the neighbor? for now, i pray & work to help teach and foster experience of this with my youth minstry so that the youth have a spiritual sense of welcome.
